This a local Indivisible event to peacefully honor and remember the service members who have died in the ongoing war with Iran, and to hold a peaceful protest calling for an end to the conflict. This will be a solemn, nonpartisan community gathering focused on remembrance, reflection, and a call for peace.
A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
Join us as we gather in front of Fitchburg City Hall on the second Saturday of each month to support democracy and the rule of law – and to protest the policies of trump and this shambolic and cruel administration. Signs are welcome and encouraged, and there are always extra signs and flags to borrow.

Harry Hom Dow didn’t just break a barrier, he opened a door that has never closed. The first Chinese American admitted to the Massachusetts Bar, he used the law as a tool for justice, advocating for communities the system was built to exclude. Today, his legacy lives on beneath The Embrace, where he is honored as one of the 69 Freedom Plaza Heroes.
Now we carry it forward.
Join us for Embrace’s celebration of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander civic leadership, a gathering rooted in community, honoring the trailblazers who continue his work.
The official program begins at 5:10 PM and will feature remarks from civic leaders and elected officials, a community panel, honoree recognition, live performances, and food.

Two former immigration judges dissect recent shifts — from the Supreme Court case over birthright citizenship to the large-scale firings of judges — and debate whether we’re witnessing lawlessness or a controversial interpretation and enforcement of existing laws.

Join Indivisible and D-Hub, a global democracy defense organization, for a practical training on how organizers across the world are using Signal and WhatsApp to build stronger, safer, more effective grassroots movements.
Whether you’re mobilizing rapid response networks, coordinating immigrant defense efforts, or growing local community power, the tools you use matter. In this session, you’ll learn how to strategically use Signal and WhatsApp together to organize securely, communicate at scale, and strengthen your local campaigns.
We’ll cover:
Strengths and weaknesses of both apps: Signal as the gold standard for secure organizing in high-risk contexts, WhatsApp as the best option for broader reach
Best practices for protecting your community while organizing around nonviolent activities that range from ICE and detention center response, to mass mobilization
How WhatsApp’s widespread adoption and layered structure make it a powerful tool for distributed organizing
Lessons from successful peaceful pro-democracy and anti-authoritarian movements around the world
Security tradeoffs, organizing strategies, and practical tips you can start using immediately
You’ll leave with concrete tools, real-world examples, and a stronger understanding of how to build resilient digital organizing spaces that help your community take action safely and effectively.
Join us for a powerful day of creative resistance! We are deeply inspired by the history of Project Tsuru—a movement of Japanese-American WWII detainment camp survivors and allies who have left origami cranes at ICE facilities nationwide to protest family separation and human rights abuses.
Come stand with us as we bring this powerful tradition of solidarity and justice to our community.
🎒 Mutual Aid Drive: We will be actively collecting food donations during the event to directly support individuals and families immediately upon their release from the facility. Please bring shelf-stable staples like pasta, peanut butter, canned tuna, tomato sauce, white or brown rice, canned black or pinto beans, and rolled oatmeal to contribute.
What to Expect:
Creative Protest: A striking visual display of 1,000+ handmade origami cranes.
Speakers & Education: Learn about the history of Project Tsuru, the critical importance of local advocacy, and utilizing art as a tool for social change.
Community: Featuring guest speakers, live music, and collective action.
📬 How to participate: No prior origami experience is necessary! All materials will be provided, but feel free to bring your own folded cranes if you’ve been crafting at home. Bring food donations as described above.
