Have you felt overwhelmed or depressed by the daily assault on our basic values this past year? You are not alone. This workshop will help us express our feelings together and provide models and approaches to help strengthen our resilience for what is to come. It will provide hope for the future, and coping strategies for helping you and those around you.
The trainers for this event are Claire Karl Müller, Movement Building Director at UU Mass Action, and Rebecca Riccio, Director of the Social Impact Lab at Northeastern University. This event is sponsored by Reclaim Our Democracy. If you have any questions, please contact Fred Van Deusen at fredvandeu@gmail.com.
We need to act fast to ensure that Trump doesn’t run Venezuela
Join our emergency organizing call to find ways to mobilize to stop more endless war. Congress can act this week to end Trump’s warmongering in Venezuela—and may vote as early as Thursday.
RSVP now to join thousands of fellow activists and progressive leaders, including Representative Ilhan Omar, and Representative Greg Casar, to share our opposition to Trump’s actions and learn about opportunities for timely, meaningful impact. We need fast, visible responses, directed at members of Congress, to prevent Trump from further dangerous military actions against other countries, and to get our focus back on running our own country.
Trump and Republicans are sending the cost of our health care soaring. Prices are going up, and the only ones doing well in this economy are Trump’s billionaire cronies. We won’t let him distract from this affordability crisis and his poor poll numbers with a potentially illegal, dangerous, corrupt war. Join us Wednesday night to find immediate actions you can take.
This event is being hosted by MoveOn, Working Families Power, Indivisible, Public Citizen, and Win Without War.
Hello postcard activists! The next Mill City Messaging event takes place Thursday, January 8th, at Lala Books on Market Street in Lowell. This month we will be writing to Democratic voters in Ohio who usually skip midterms about their Senators’ vote to increase health care premiums and the importance of supporting Sherrod Brown for Senate in 2026. RSVP here.
The Trump administration is dragging us into war with Venezuela.
On the night of January 2, they launched an attack that resulted in the capture of Venezuelan President Maduro.
Now Trump has declared that the US will “run” Venezuela and control oil production until a transition of power can take place. He is disregarding national sovereignty and forcing a regime-change all without authorization from Congress and without citing evidence of a legitimate threat to the United States.
And it’s all in service of his own authoritarian ambitions. If he’s not stopped, Trump will continue this power grab, escalating violence in the region and putting US service members and civilians in danger unnecessarily.
We need Congress to check this regime’s lawless violence, or there’s no telling where this will end. The Constitution states clearly that war powers belong to Congress—not the White House.
Join us this Wednesday, January 7th, at 12 p.m. Eastern to call voters in five key states and ask them to demand that their senators hold this administration accountable and follow the Constitution and the law.
