Black Tie Protest

December 5, 2025 @ 4:30 pm 6:30 pm EST

Why: The owner of Cafe Escadrille also owns the ICE Prison/Field Office at 1000 District Ave. He has been silent on the abuses in his building, and has not aided the Town’s efforts to inspect for zoning & safety violations. We’ll keep visiting his restaurant until he’s ready to face the conversation.

Parking: down the street in front of the Burlington Ice Palace (this is Town property where you will not be towed. Please do NOT park at the Cafe Escadrille!)

Note: People often wear formal wear to this protest!

Massachusetts Access to Counsel Initiative (MACI)

What is MACI?

The Massachusetts Access to Counsel Initiative is a joint effort between MIRA Coalition, CPCS, and a statewide network of legal organizations. Together, we’re building a centralized intake and referral system for individuals in Massachusetts facing Immigration Court proceedings. Through a single intake line, detained and non-detained individuals from Massachusetts will be able to request help and be connected with an available legal service provider for potential representation.

How does it work?

Individuals can call the intake line and complete an intake. This will take about 15-30 minutes depending on the situation. From there, eligible individuals will be referred to a contracted legal partner for a consultation (pending capacity).

Callers should leave their name and number in a voicemail if the line is busy. They will receive a call back within one business day. Detained individuals should leave the name and phone number of a trusted family member.

Who is eligible?

Detained and non-detained individuals from Massachusetts who are in removal proceedings and meet income and other eligibility requirements.

Is there interpretation available?

YesThe intake manager speaks Spanish, and other languages will be patched in via a telephonic interpreter.

The MACI intake line is now open: (508) 505-4588

Mass Power Forward Distributed Lobby Day-Statewide

December 9, 2025 All day

The meetings will focus on making sure that a bill like the House’s dirty energy bill doesn’t come back and that we instead get real climate action.

The policy conversation around a 2025 Climate and Energy package has been heating up. It’s important that our legislators get educated by US. RSVP to organize or attend a district meeting with your Representative and/or Senator to not only talk about what we haven’t liked so far, but also what OUR priorities are.

We require 3 participants per/legislative district to support moving forward.

GAIN Weekly Standout – Northborough

December 3, 2025 @ 5:30 pm 6:30 pm EST

Weekly GAIN Standout – Northborough, MA

Please join Greater Assabet Indivisible Network (GAIN) each Wednesday from 5:30pm – 6:30pm in front of Northborough’s “Old Town Hall” at the intersection of Routes 20 and 135, next to CVS. Meet our group as we hold our signs, create community, educate the public, and create good trouble. This is a fun-filled event and a busy location with great visibility.

We are continuing this weekly standout even while it’s dark – because it’s a great spot. The streetlights and headlights keep our signs visible. Some bring colored lights or glow sticks to make it more fun.

Please bring a sign if you have one, but that’s not a requirement. We often have extras, and sometimes blanks to create your own.

Note: If the forecast shows 32 degrees or lower or heavy rain for the standout time, please consider the event canceled.

Please park in the free municipal parking lot on Blake Street, next to the standout. Sawyer’s Bowladrome at 13 Blake Street is an ideal GPS destination.

Please subscribe to our weekly newsletter at www.massgain.org to get all the latest info on all our events.

Brookline Rally for Democracy

January 3 @ 1:00 pm 2:00 pm EST

Brookline Rally for Democracy

Every Saturday at 1:00 PM | Coolidge Corner

Join members of three Brookline pro-democracy groups — indivisible Activist Evenings, Brookline Pax, and Speak Out, Seniors! — for our weekly rally at Coolidge Corner.

We gather to raise our voices and our signs in defense of democracy, justice, and decency — and to stand united against the abuses of the Trump administration and the forces that threaten our rights and freedoms.

We stand for:

• Immigrant rights, human rights, and racial justice

• Free speech, the Constitution, and the rule of law

• Access to health and healthcare for all

• Protection of our planet and the future we leave to the next generation

We choose empathy over cruelty, peace over violence, and hope over fear.

Our rallies are peaceful, spirited, and uplifting — a chance to connect, recharge, and stand up for what matters. Bring your friends, your voice, and your sign (or borrow one of ours!).

All are welcome!  The rally is multi-generational and family-friendly; those using walkers or other mobility devices may use them to sit to participate.

In the event of inclement weather, we’ll each use our best judgment about whether to attend. We hope you’ll do the same!

Please join us, one rally at a time.  We’ll continue for as long as it takes.
