On December 13, 1773, three days before the Boston Tea Party, the Lexington Town Meeting concluded a multi-day debate with a resolution to stop purchasing or drinking imported British tea. The crowd spilled out onto the common behind the meeting house and made a bonfire, throwing the entire town’s supply of tea into it.

Each year, we reenact this occasion with a day of tea history! Join us for fun, interactive activities to learn more about why tea was so important to the Revolution. Meet with the Lexington residents of 1773 to hear their side of the story, find out where tea comes from, and end the day by gathering around the fire and burning the tea!

Stop by for all the festivities:

  • Buckman Tavern will be open 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM, with holiday decorations. Admission will be “pay what you can!”
  • From 12:00 – 3:00 PM, learn more about the history of tea, and its alternatives during the Revolution, with drop-in activities with Lexington History Museums and the Chinese-American Association of Lexington.
  • At 12:00 PM, join local children’s book author Sabrina Bhattacharjya for a reading and signing of her new book, The Midnight Writer, sharing the story of the Battle of Lexington from the perspective of a young girl of the time.
  • From 12:00 – 1:00, meet with the Lexington Minute Men and learn more about the town’s role in the coming Revolution as the fire begins to grow in front of the Visitors Center.
  • At 1:00 PM, join us to burn the tea! We will open with a performance by the William Diamond Jr Fife and Drum Corps, and will be throwing real tea in the fire, generously donated by Mark T. Wendell Tea Company of Acton.
  • At 2:00 PM, warm up in the tavern with a special performance by the Lexington History Museums Singers to go along with your tea and historical hot chocolate!

Swing Blue Alliance- Frontline Update

Virtual Event

December 13, 2025 @ 10:00 am 10:30 am EST

Join us for our monthly 30-minute Frontline Update

At the next Frontline Update, help root out the bad actors! Swing Blue Alliance is shining a light on Scam PACs flooding inboxes and phones with misleading fundraising appeals.

These deceptive solicitations mislead donors, distort the grassroots landscape, and often spend most of the money they raise on fundraising expenses rather than on real electoral work. But there are ways we can fight back and protect our movement.

Ways to Be a Scambuster:

  • Report misleading solicitations to Act Blue. Act Blue has recently adopted new policies to help prevent fundraising spam and scam operations from using their platform. You can report questionable fundraising appeals to Act Blue using this How-to-Doc.
  • Forward your spam text screenshots to the phone number 7726. That lets your phone service provider know that the text you are sending was spam.
  • Volunteer to do research on Scam PACs. There’s a lot of data about most PACs on websites of the FEC and OpenSecrets.org. Volunteers identify Scam PACs and document their misdeeds. To get started, email info@swingbluealliance.org

Join us to break down the Scam PAC crisis, share what our researchers are uncovering, and show you how to help clean up the donation ecosystem while making sure you are donating as effectively as you can.

Stay afterward for Q&A and discussions.

Get ICE out of Home Depot -Natick

December 6, 2025 @ 1:00 pm 2:00 pm EST

All over the country, ICE agents are targeting immigrants in and around Home Depot, and these atrocities are happening on Home Depot’s watch, on its properties, with its silence.

The Home Depot has not publicly resisted or condemned these raids or demanded that the Administration stop assaulting and abducting people on and outside its properties. With its silence and inaction, Home Depot has become ICE’s passive partner.

In order to show up for immigrant community members and defeat authoritarianism, we must engage in the dual strategy of electing people who will stand up to Trump, and engaging in noncooperation (also known as civil resistance). Movements with no civil resistance actions, stopping democratic backsliding only happens 7.5% of the time. With a civil resistance added to the movement, that percentage goes up to 51.7%!

In addition to this, we need to run civil resistance campaigns that hit the power holders where it hurts! When we do symbolic actions like one day protests and vigils, which are useful in their own way, power holders can easily ignore them. When we engage in actions that cost money like a boycott, cost elected leaders their seats, or stop business as usual, they are far more likely to respond. So we engage in noncooperation because we must impose real and tangible costs to powerholders’ bottom-lines!

Suggested signs:

ICE out of Home Depot
We Ain’t Buying it – stand with immigrant neighbors!
If you work with ICE, we freeze our spending

A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.

Justice 4 All Thursdays

December 4, 2025 @ 11:00 am 1:00 pm EST

Greater Assabet Indivisible Network (GAIN) invites you to stand in solidarity with immigrants and resistance to ICE and their cruel and lawless detention of our neighbors Thursdays from 11am-1pm, starting September 4. Regardless of any other political views, you are welcome to join us and demand Justice 4 All so long as you do so non-violently.

Our friends at Bearing Witness have been hosting gatherings at this location for many weeks. We are an unaffiliated group, but very much aligned with their values and mission. Our goal is to add to the total number of hours that citizens stand in non-violent opposition to the deplorable detainment conditions at this location. If you have been to Bearing Witness on Wednesdays, we would love to have you at Justice 4 All Thursdays.

Schedule

11:00-11:30 Welcome; music; announcements
11:30-12:30 Stand with signs along District Ave
12:30-1:00 Optional short march down to Mall Rd.

Weather

All attendees are ultimately responsible for making their own decisions about travel.  The organizers are going to use the following guidelines to modify or cancel events in advance.  A sudden change in conditions just before or during events, such as a tornado warning or severe thunderstorm warning, could happen and organizers will do their best to communicate any decisions appropriately.

No change to event:
Normal to heavy Rain
Windy, but no warnings
Light snow on ground, but not falling

Cancel:
Burlington schools cancelled
Temp/Wind Chill < 20F
Storm advisory with snow or high wind predicted
Freezing rain falling or predicted

Shorten event in advance, limit to standout:
Temp/Wind Chill < 30F
Temp Ok, but ground wet
Deep snow in grassy area, sidewalks clear

What happens at this ICE office?

ICE personnel depart from District Ave. in unmarked vans with tinted windows on missions to abduct immigrants across New England. Immigrants may also show up at the office for appointments. The facility on District Ave was never intended to be a detention center, yet immigration lawyers and media interviews reveal that people are now being housed here in conditions that have been called “abysmal” and “unsanitary.”

What to expect at Justice 4 All?

We are committed to nonviolence, and we stand peacefully with signs outside the facility. We do not block the entrance, we do not physically approach ICE agents as they walk to/from the parking lot, and we do not block traffic on District Ave.

Signs

This is a very targeted action outside the ICE facility, so it’s not the venue for protesting other causes. Even though we care deeply about other issues, while outside ICE we must remain focused on immigration.

Parking and other tips

For parking, please use the Macy’s overflow lot (75 Burlington Mall Road, follow signs for Macy’s, see map). For those with mobility challenges, please keep in mind that the lots closest to ICE — the FAA lot beside ICE and the BAE Systems lot directly across the street from ICE — have both been blocked off. There are restaurants nearby (Clover, Pressed Cafe, Chipotle) to get food and use the bathroom. Before arriving, please consider your own self-preservation (citizenship status) and self-care (sunscreen, hydration, etc.).

If you would like to receive updates on Justice4All Thursdays and reminders of our events, please add your email below to join our list. We’re excited to reinforce the work of our friends at Bearing Witness and to support our immigrant neighbors. We hope that you will join us.

See you in Burlington!
