Love America Rally with Heather Cox Richardson

Virtual Event

October 29, 2025 @ 7:30 pm 8:30 pm EDT

While extremists tried to brand No Kings as “Hate America Rallies”-–they couldn’t have been more wrong. Flags were flying and peaceful messages of love and patriotism were the theme of the day. Much to the dismay of those trying to tear us apart, the real power in this country is citizens coming together. Join historian and author Heather Cox Richardson as we talk about how Americans can take back patriotism in this moment–including by voting and getting our friends to vote in the elections happening nationwide on Tuesday, November 4th. Each of us has the power to spark change in our communities, and this is a celebration of what we can do when we join together!

Hands Off Beverly

October 25, 2025 @ 11:00 am 12:00 pm EDT

This a local Indivisible event!

HANDS OFF BEVERLY has been standing up against Trump & Co. policies, executive orders, cruelty and general lawlessness every Saturday since February 2025.

There are plenty of signs and cowbells to borrow and the music by our DJ Jim is excellent. We typically give away 10 yard signs on a first come, first serve basis as long as you promise to display them prominently in your yard or window and send us a picture. You can see many on our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/groups/3875181849412135. And of course we have bubbles and stickers. We are all coming together because we are frustrated and angry but during our protests we are joyful and are enjoying each other’s company. The typical crowd size is between 130 and 200. Come and join us! It will make you feel better!

A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.

Shutdown Showdown Standout

October 23, 2025 @ 4:00 pm 5:30 pm EDT

This Thursday, join us at the Pleasant St/Highlnd St corner of the Newton Square rotary, by the WWII Veteran’s Memorial! The T&G claimed, that, at the time the Memorial was dedicated in 2013, 21,000 vehicles passed through the Newton Square Rotary daily. Traffic is bumper to bumper during the time we will be standing out. Our signs remind passers-by of the fact that the responsibility for the cruel shutdown lays squarely at the feet of the MAGA Republicans and the heartless President. They control the Presidency, the House, the Senate and the Supreme Court.

Filled with the enthusiasm from last Saturday’s No King’s protest, let’s take advantage of the momentum and standout at the Newton Square Rotary during evening rush hour! Since we’ve got the signs, let’s use them again! We have 12 easily readable posters for our Shutdown Showdown Standouts. Last Thursday 3 of us were overwhelmed with support from the passing vehicles while standing at the Pleasant/Newton Ave corner of the rotary.

The high temperature on this upcoming, sunny Thursday is 56 degrees, with only a light breeze! Lessons learned last week were, wear gloves when it’s breezy and be aware of the sun blinding drivers heading west at this time of day. I’m sure we’ll learn more this Thursday.

We are happy to standout at other locations on subsequent Thursdays. Please let me know if you have suggestions for other locations, in other areas of the city, where we can reach even more Worcester residents.

Please sign up to join me for Thursday’s standout. Let’s keep the awareness of who is creating this congressional nightmare in front of the public.

This event used to be held every Friday and has now switched to the first Sunday of every month. Hopefully we can build this group back up and keep fighting the good fight against fascism!

Please bring snacks and water, for fuel and hydration.

This event is weather permitting. Any storms, whether that be heavy rain, thunder/lightening storms, or, dare I say it, severe snow storms (who knows when that’ll start…), will call for a reschedule or cancellation.

Canvass to Protect the Vote in Maine

October 25, 2025 @ 10:00 am 2:00 pm EDT

Join Swing Blue Alliance to defeat Maine’s voter suppression referendum on the ballot this November. We will canvass primarily Democratic voters in southern Maine to make sure we turn out every supporter. This ballot question, underwritten by national Republicans, would limit drop boxes, mail-in and absentee voting, and require identification, which does not include student or tribal IDs.  It’s likely to be a low turnout election, so our work will be especially impactful. Let’s work with the Maine Democrats to make sure we have accessible, free and fair elections in Maine and show the country that citizens want to protect voting rights.
