TurnPurple2Blue has always urged the these donation good practices:
- Give to grassroots organizations or vetted strategic groups, not PACs.
- Give directly to candidates, never the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC, spoken as the D triple-C or the D-trip).
- Ignore melodramatic texts and do not give through them.
The following are two articles, written by Adam Bonica, in a substack newsletter. The first article details how donation money was stolen from people who thought they were helping democratic causes and candidates. Be sure to read the concluding paragraphs “Why the Democratic Party Looks the Other Way” and “The Democratic Party Must Clean House”. The article (button below) also has many more graphs detailing the shuffling of money between PACs.
The second article details the reforms ActBlue initiated in response. The Democratic party has said nothing. The article also notes that “A very generous interpretation might put the efficiency rate at 10-20% (still terrible)”
