SAFs are a flawed and false climate solution —
- SAFs will not reduce carbon emissions
- SAFs will overwhelm the energy grid
- SAFs will divert public resources from options with far higher CO2 reductions — like fully decarbonizing the electric
- SAFs will lead to food insecurity, deforestation, fraudulent use of raw materials mislabeled as “waste”
SAFs are marketed as a climate fix—but they’re based on flawed science and industry hype. From crop-based fuels that take land from food to CO2-intensive production, SAFs are just another false solution in the Big Polluters’ Playbook:
