Film Screening of Castle in the Sky & Panel Discussion

September 14, 2025 @ 1:00 pm 4:00 pm EDT

Greater Boston PSR will be showing the film Castle in the Sky, also known as Laputa, at the West Newton Cinema.

Castle in the Sky, is a 1986 Japanese animated fantasy adventure film written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki.

The film has a strong nuclear weapons allegory and, for this reason, the film will be followed by a discussion surrounding nuclear weapons and related advocacy with Greater Boston Physicians for Social Responsibility and The Ikeda Center for Peace, Learning, and Dialogue.

Vigil for Dignity Not Detention – We Stand with Dreamers

Virtual Event

August 26, 2025 @ 6:30 pm 7:30 pm EDT

Join us for a powerful event of solidarity as we gather to demand justice and dignity for all immigrants.

Catalina “Xóchitl” Santiago, a DACA recipient and lifelong community organizer, was unlawfully detained in El Paso, TX, despite her valid protections. Her story is not isolated—it is part of a growing pattern of cruelty against immigrant communities. Together, we will shine a light on this injustice, honor the resilience of Dreamers, and call for an end to detention practices that dehumanize our neighbors and friends.

This vigil is more than a moment—it is a movement. Bring your voice, your candle, and your commitment to stand with Dreamers and all who are targeted by ICE and CBP’s fear campaign.

As a community, we will show that we refuse to look away and refuse to be silent. Join us in sending a clear message: dignity, not detention.

Please note this is a virtual event on Zoom. Once you signup check your email for the Zoom link.
