Show Up for Democracy

September 7, 2025 @ 10:30 am 11:30 am EDT

This is a local Indivisible event!

Join Indivisible Hingham Hull and neighbors from across our community to stand up and protect our democracy. Right now, it needs all of us to be loud, visible, and united.

Bring your voice, your signs, your friends, and your family. This is what democracy looks like.

Everyone’s welcome—see you there!

A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.

Fight the Trump Takeover

Virtual Event

August 14, 2025 @ 8:00 pm 9:00 pm EDT

he Texas House Democrats are denying quorum to stop the Trump takeover of our state and block his attempt to rig the 2026 midterm elections. But Trump isn’t stopping in Texas. He’s targeting Missouri, Ohio, Florida, and every state he can twist to help him steal Congress next year. States like California and New York are starting to fight back.

Let’s be clear: this fight started in Texas, but it doesn’t end there. It’s about the future of our democracy. Trump knows that he can’t win on his ideas so he is trying to steal congress – and he’s doing it by silencing the voices of communities of color. We’re not going to let that happen.

That’s why we’re organizing a National Day of Action on Saturday, August 16, to fight back against the Trump takeover of our country.

Texas will lead with an anchor rally at the Capitol in Austin. Across the country, we’re asking people to show up at their state houses, city halls, or community spaces and make it clear — we see what Trump is doing, and we won’t stand for it.

Join our national mobilization and planning call this Thursday, August 14 at 8pm ET to learn more about how you can get involved and why we’re fighting back.

Concord Indivisible Huddle

August 17, 2025 @ 2:00 pm 4:00 pm EDT

Come write cards and spend time chatting with your fellow democracy warriors!

We’ve been asked to write postcards to voters in Virginia. This project has 2 purposes:

  • Contribute to democratic victory in the Virginia fall election for governor and state legislature. It’s the first chance for voters to respond to Trump 2.0. Everyone agrees we need a big win by Democrats to show that a focus on the economy, affordability, and democracy will be a winning strategy nationally in 2026.
  • Test the effectiveness of using political cartoons as a way to engage swing voters. In this case the cards will be sent to voters around Norfolk, home to a lot of military families, and the image and message relate to cuts in veterans services.

10 cards/ packet. Stay and write or take them to go. Alternate pick up time and location available. Info and sign up

If you haven’t heard of it, Swing Left is a national network that helps people find high impact ways to support Democratic candidates. We focus on the most flippable races as an important step towards ensuring the progressive change needed to create a more inclusive and equitable government and society.

Donate directly to Candidates or Grassroots Groups

TurnPurple2Blue has always urged the these donation good practices:

  1. Give to grassroots organizations or vetted strategic groups, not PACs.
  2. Give directly to candidates, never the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC, spoken as the D triple-C or the D-trip).
  3. Ignore melodramatic texts and do not give through them.

The following are two articles, written by Adam Bonica, in a substack newsletter. The first article details how donation money was stolen from people who thought they were helping democratic causes and candidates.   Be sure to read the concluding paragraphs “Why the Democratic Party Looks the Other Way” and “The Democratic Party Must Clean House”.  The article (button below) also has many more graphs detailing the shuffling of money between PACs.

The second article details the reforms ActBlue initiated in response. The Democratic party has said nothing. The article also notes that “A very generous interpretation might put the efficiency rate at 10-20% (still terrible)”

Jews Say No More

August 14, 2025 @ 5:30 pm 6:30 pm EDT

We are at a point of no return. Israel’s blockade on Gaza has inflicted famine conditions on Palestinians, with hundreds dying by starvation, and thousands more on the brink of death. Our tradition teaches that whoever is able to protest the actions of their people, and does not, is responsible for those actions. We all must choose to act right now.

Starving the people of Gaza to death also means starving the remaining hostages to death, but Netanyahu and Trump don’t care about the hostages, they care about power.

On Thursday, August 14 at 5:30PM, we will gather for a mass Jewish rally calling for an end to Israel’s starvation and ethnic cleansing of Gaza. We object to our government’s continued support for this policy of starvation and refusal to leverage its immense power to compel the admission of humanitarian aid.

It’s time to speak out: Jews say no more starvation, no more ethnic cleansing.

Jews and allies welcome.
