Be Brave Day Worcester Overpass Standout

August 15, 2025 @ 4:00 pm 6:00 pm EDT

On Friday, August 15th, we celebrate #BeBraveDay, when hundreds of Visibility Brigade chapter groups (of which Worcester Indivisible is a member) will converge on overpasses and bridges across our nation, proclaiming: BE BRAVE WITH US. WE’LL STAND WITH YOU.

Say this message out loud. Speak it to another person. Repeat it again. Does it make you feel energized and ready to fight to save our country?

Words. Have. Power.

Our goal is for this empowering message to go beyond August 15th and become a mantra of hope and determination that we can hold onto and share with each other in even our darkest moments.

We want this message seen and heard EVERYWHERE – and we need your help getting it out there! We welcome you to join us on our overpasses on August 15th, but we need you to present this message elsewhere as well: on sidewalks, on display in store windows, in the front dash of your car, on your lawn, taped onto telephone poles – anywhere that is public and where we have 1st Amendment Rights or where you have permission to display it.

Sunday Tea & Virtual Democratic Phonebank for US House Special Elections

Virtual Event

August 17, 2025 @ 4:30 pm 6:00 pm EDT

Phonebank from home to recruit volunteers and to turn out special election voters for Democrats in AZ-7, TX-18, and State Legislatures nationwide: Democrats are only a few seats away from a US House majority. We are also calling for the governor races in Virginia and New Jersey. We will start with a brief Zoom meeting for training purposes and then phonebank. This event is co-hosted by Somerville & Medford Democrats, but is open to all. Let’s take the fight to Republicans in every State and in every House district!

Fair Immigration Overpass Standout

August 17, 2025 @ 3:00 pm 6:00 pm EDT

3 Hours Long – Sign up for 1 or more shifts!

Massachusetts, a state with a Democratic trifecta, has the power to protect vulnerable groups and resist the Trump administration and MAGA Republican agenda. The budget reconciliation bill increased I.C.E.’s power, making it the largest domestic law enforcement agency. I.C.E.’s overreach is causing fear, family separations, due process violations, inhuman detentions, and worsening community disruptions. These effects will intensify—especially in sanctuary cities—as plans are underway to add 10,000 new agents and expand detention facilities. But we demand limits on I.C.E. overreach and a balanced approach to public safety. Join us in showing Massachusetts stands for immigrant rights, defends due process, and rejects secret police tactics.

Brookline Rally for Democracy

Join us every Saturday, 2:00-3:00 pm for a peaceful, pro-democracy rally at Coolidge Corner in Brookline as we raise our voices against the abuses of the Trump administration.

We stand for:

o Immigrant rights, human rights, and anti-racism

o Free speech, the Constitution, and the rule of law

o Healthcare and Social Security

o The protection of our planet

We stand for empathy over cruelty, peace over violence, and an end to the devastating wars in Gaza, Ukraine, and Iran. We stand for democracy, justice, and a future we can be proud to leave to the next generation.

This will be a spirited, peaceful gathering—bring your voice, your friends, and your signs! All are welcome, including participants with walkers, wheelchairs, scooters, and other mobility devices.

This weekly event is hosted by Speak Out, Seniors! and we invite all generations to join us in standing up for democracy—one rally at a time. We’ll continue this weekly tradition for as long as it takes!

Suggestions:

o Bring a water bottle, sunscreen, and a hat

o In the event of inclement weather, we’ll each use our best judgment about whether to attend. We hope you’ll do the same!

The Flamingo Revolutionists Defend Democracy!

August 15, 2025 @ 6:00 pm 7:30 pm EDT

Migrant rights are the core focus right now, including Birthright Citizenship, but there are so many things under attack under the Trump administration; LGBTQIA+ rights, especially Trans rights, Women’s rights, Reproductive right, including Abortion rights, Medicare and Medicaid, Trans Veteran rights, Colleges and University rights, the Separation of Church and State, Environmental Protections, need I go on?

It is INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT that we continue to fight against his actions. This is OUR country, OUR streets, OUR communities, and WE. ARE. THE. PEOPLE. So band together with me, and other groups, to say NO MORE!

A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
