Signs of Fascism | Roadside Sign-Holding Event

February 21 @ 11:00 am 12:15 pm EST

Twenty hardy volunteers will show drivers a sequence of twenty signs that show different symptoms of authoritarianism. In a bit of political theater, each person stands grim-faced and still — no waving, no smiling. Sign-holders will be spaced out so drivers will have a moment to think about the words on each sign before encountering the next.

A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.

Tell Target to Break Up With ICE

Virtual Event

February 9 @ 8:00 pm 9:00 pm EST

This Valentine’s Day, break up with ICE!

Across the country, our communities are under attack. ICE is tearing families apart, and politicians and corporations like Target are enabling it. Target has deep roots in Minnesota and nationwide influence. By refusing ICE access and collaboration, they could stand on the right side of history, but right now, they’re enabling oppression.

This Valentine’s Day, we’re asking you to stand up and take action with us. SURJ members are organizing actions at Target stores across the country to demand that Target refuse ICE access, stop collaborating, and push for defunding ICE.

By showing up together — in love, in courage, and in solidarity — we can disrupt business as usual, challenge harmful corporate behavior, and inspire others in our communities to stand up for their neighbors and join us in this work.

To get everyone ready to take action, we’re hosting two calls:

Call 1 – February 5, 2026

  • Learn why Target is our target and the impact our actions can have
  • Hear directly from organizers in Minnesota who have already led actions at Target and learn from their experience
  • Get inspired and say yes to organizing an action at your local Target and learn your next steps

Call 2 – February 9, 2026

  • Walk through a step-by-step guide to organizing a Target action
  • Learn the basics of nonviolent direct action, roles, and planning
  • Ask questions and get support as you prepare to show up

Can’t make both calls? No problem. Sign up and we’ll send you the recording so you can still prepare and take action.

Join us to be part of a nationwide wave of love in action. Love melts ICE!

To Immigrants With Love | Valentine’s Week of Action

Virtual Event

February 9 February 15 EST

This Valentine’s Day week, people across the country are coming together to show love and solidarity with immigrant communities—and to reject the violent, intrusive, and unlawful tactics being carried out by the Trump Department of Homeland Security (DHS), including Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

This is a weekend of nonviolent action, collective care, and public accountability. Sign up to show your participation and to receive updates and resources.

Below are 4 simple ways to take part. Choose one or take on several. Every action matters.

1) Share Love & Solidarity on Social Media Use your voice to help flood social media with messages of love, dignity, and solidarity for immigrants and their families.

What to do:

  • Post a message of love and solidarity for immigrant communities Share why you believe immigrants deserve safety, dignity, and due process
  • Lift up stories from your own community if you feel comfortable

Please use this To Immigrants With Love social media toolkit from FWD.us with sample language, graphics, and video templates. Social Toolkit: https://tinyurl.com/5kz75rbf

Why it matters: Public narrative shapes public action. When we show up together online, we counter fear with humanity.

2) Call on Congress: Demand Accountability from ICE and CBP Congress has the power—and the responsibility—to oversee DHS and stop abuses.

What to do:

  • Call or email your U.S. Senators and Representative
  • Demand real accountability, transparency, and consequences for ICE and CBP abuses
  • Oppose any new funding for ICE or CBP without enforceable oversight and accountability

Call the Capitol switchboard and ask to be connected with your members of Congress: (202) 224-3121

You can also use these quick and simple email tools to send your members of Congress a message right now!

3) Plug into Ongoing Immigrant Rights Actions here on Turn Purple 2 Blue!

Here are a few more great groups doing important ongoing work!

4) Commit to Showing Up for Immigrants in Your Community Solidarity doesn’t stop at policy—it lives in our neighborhoods.

What this can look like:

  • Support an immigrant-owned business by donating or buying from them (in MN, local immigrant owned business are struggling to survive, and many might not reopen after the occupation)
  • Connect through schools and parents associations to provide support to immigrant families
  • If you are a religious person, ask your pastor to preach from the pulpit and/or connect through a congregation to provide support to families in need
  • Connect with local mutual aid networks to provide rides, translation, and other kinds of support
  • Hire a day laborer! Providing a day of work with fair pay is an act of solidarity!
  • Bake cookies or share a meal with an immigrant family nearby
  • Simply check in on neighbors who may be feeling afraid or targeted
  • Make it personal: Choose one concrete act of care you can do this weekend—and commit to it.

Our Shared Commitment

This weekend is about more than protest. It’s about choosing love over fear, community over cruelty, and accountability over abuse of power. No matter how you participate, thank you for showing up with compassion, courage, and solidarity.

Restoring the Promise: A Discussion about Immigration Policy and the Path Forward

February 10 @ 6:00 pm 7:30 pm EST

Join us for Restoring the Promise, a community-based discussion led by Antonio Massa Viana, Massachusetts immigration attorney and founder of Massa Viana Law. An immigrant himself, Antonio arrived in the U.S. at age 12 and later became the first known undocumented attorney admitted to the Massachusetts Bar. His personal journey through the immigration system fuels his dedication to advocacy grounded in empathy, justice, and a vision for a fairer future.

This nonpartisan program invites participants to reflect on the impact of current immigration policies, the ways immigration has shaped our nation, and the constitutional questions that affect both non-citizens and U.S. citizens alike. Grounded in shared ideals — fairness, accountability, and the belief that our nation’s strength rests on how we treat every person under its protection — Restoring the Promise creates space for meaningful dialogue and collective problem-solving.

Through real-life stories, legal insights, and historical analysis, Antonio will guide participants in exploring:

– What the Constitution guarantees in terms of rights and legal protections and how those guarantees are applied today

– Why our immigration system is ineffective and in need of reform

– What history tells us about immigration in America

– Common myths about immigration versus the reality

– How immigration abuses open the door to broader civil rights violations

– A vision for moving forward, balancing national interests, compassion, and the rule of law

This is not only an opportunity to listen and learn, but also a chance to explore solutions to today’s immigration challenges and to ask a vital question: What kind of future do we want to build together as a country?

Sign Holding at the Bridge, Tyngsboro Town Center

February 7 @ 11:00 am 12:00 pm EST

This a local Indivisible event!

This sign holding has a theme, see below-

Join us for a positive, peaceful, sign holding to celebrate the power of the people, and the heart of America.

Our president has called us extremists, terrorists, people who hate the country. We know it is the opposite. We do this because we love our country, democracy, the constitution.

Let’s show the love and stand against the negativity. Rather than negative signs, we encourage you to phrase things in a positive way with a big red heart. Think about all of the things this administration has taken away from us, and what matters most to you.

Examples of signs:

I (heart) America, or National Parks, or Universal Health Care, or the First Amendment, or peaceful protests.

For those who want to take a stronger stand, your outrage can still be shown as a positive: I (heart) the 25th Amendment, the power to impeach, the release of more Epstein files, a congress with a backbone, a president who tells the truth….

Wear some red and/or pink, and wave, dance and smile. Be sure to wave enthusiastically or blow kisses to those who oppose us. Let’s be a symbol of joy amid the many horrible things that have happened lately.

In solidarity,

Maura, Carolyn, Jill

The people have the power

The power to dream, to rule to wrestle the world from fools it’s decreed the people rule it’s decreed the people rule -Patty Smith

A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
