By now, most of us have seen video clips of groups of masked and armed people committing ruthless disappearing acts on our residents (including some citizens) without due process. We have also seen the National Guard deployed against the wishes of the Mayor of Los Angeles and the Governor of California.
The Trump administration is attacking our freedoms like never before. Blue state leaders (Democratic governors, legislators, and attorneys general) need to hold the line and fight as if our rights and futures depend on it, because they do.
Here are a couple of important bills filed in Massachusetts recently and we need Beacon Hill to pass them into law as soon as possible.
- HD.4886: An Act ensuring law enforcement identification and public trust will prohibit law enforcement officers from hiding their identities behind masks and anonymous uniforms during public operations
- HD.5020: An Act relative to ensuring emergency preparedness and responsible deployment of the Massachusetts National Guard will strengthen the Commonwealth’s emergency planning by overseeing how the Massachusetts National Guard is deployed.
