Broadway Musical, SUFFS, Watch Party and Discussion
June 22 @ 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm EDT
Did you miss the musical SUFFS when it was in Boston this past spring? Did you see it, want to see it again, and discuss it with others?
A recording of the Original Broadway cast is streaming on PBS. We will watch the first Act together, then talk about what we just saw.
Suffs is a Tony Award-winning Broadway musical that chronicles the American women’s suffrage movement. The show follows the trailblazing activists — referred to as “suffs”—who fought tirelessly for the right to vote, ultimately leading to the passage of the 19th Amendment in 1920.
Join us for this social event that you will no doubt find has parallels to today’s activism. Program is free, and pizza will be provided!
Co-hosted by IndivisibleWIN (Winchester, MA), Network for Social Justice (Winchester, MA), and Minutewomen for Democracy (Lexington, MA).
A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
