We Keep Us Safe: No Kings Safety Marshal Training

Virtual Event

March 20 @ 3:00 pm 4:00 pm EDT

This one‑hour virtual overview, led by AFSC, provides No Kings safety marshals across the country with the foundational skills needed to support safe, grounded, lawful, and powerful nonviolent actions. Because this is an online session, we focus on the essentials: understanding marshal roles, guiding marches, communicating with participants, using de‑escalation rooted in dignity and teamwork, and responding calmly to higher‑risk situations.

Participants will leave with a strong introductory framework they can apply immediately and a clear sense of how safety marshaling protects people and protects the movement. We will also identify some decision-points that event teams should discuss locally before events.

From Moscow to MA: Reflections on Ordinary People Standing Up to Power

March 19 @ 7:00 pm 9:00 pm EDT

Please join True North Action Alliance Boston, the newest Indivisible group in the Boston community, for our inaugural event welcoming Rebecca Riccio of the Boston Trainers Collective!

Rebecca Riccio is well known to many people in greater Boston as a social change educator, social justice activist, and safety lead and trainer for several of the city’s largest street actions since 2018. Her own training in the work of resistance began decades ago when she was a student in Moscow during the Cold War. Around the kitchen tables of political, religious, and artistic dissidents, she learned how ordinary people can find the courage to stand up to power through the strength of their convictions, communities, and appreciation for the simple joys of everyday life. Rebecca will discuss how she taps into the wisdom shared in those Russian kitchens decades ago to make sense of what is happening in the U.S. today and help others find courage in challenging times.

A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.

ICE Out of MA Courts

March 20 @ 3:30 pm 5:00 pm EDT

The LUCE Immigrant Justice Network has an “ICE Out of Massachusetts Courts” campaign to urge our state government to do everything in its power to stop its courts from being used as staging grounds for targeting and handing over community members to federal immigration officers.

As part of this effort, they are holding rallies at several MA court houses next week. You can get details about the rally at the Waltham District Court HERE. LUCE also has a petition to state officials that you can sign HERE.
