Community Resilience, Readiness and Resistance Workshop

February 28 @ 1:45 pm 4:00 pm EST

Building our capacity for resilience is an important component of the community organizing work we’re doing here in eastern Massachusetts. The current administration is going to be in power at least through January 2029. That is 30+ more months. They have only been in power for 12 months so far, which means that we are only about 20% of the way through this presidential term. Figuring out ways to stay engaged will be critical because we are all needed – particularly as we become more comfortable with being engaged in resistance activity and as we move into noncooperation activities. We can each find our own ways of making this work sustainable but it will take some openness to learning, experimentation, and practice.

In the face of increasing authoritarianism, this workshop will provide a framework for cultivating readiness and resilience as foundations for long-term resistance, personal and collective care, and preparedness for other challenges that lie ahead. Participants will leave with concrete steps for building personal, household, community, and organizational resilience and strengthening our movement to build a democracy that works for everyone.

Bonus Postcard Party for St. Patrick’s

February 26 @ 6:00 pm 8:00 pm EST

Good troublemakers are getting together to invite all our supporters to Matt McDonough’s 12th annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration.

At the Postcard Party, volunteers will be given postcards, a voter list, and a script for contacting people. Volunteers then fill up postcards with messages using the script as a guide and address the cards to voters using colorful pens to make it artistic.

Target and Home Depot De-Shopping Demonstrations | Protest Events

February 26 @ 10:00 am 12:00 pm EST

ICE OUT! JOIN US FOR A DE-SHOPPING DEMONSTRATION.

📍 Feb 26 – 10 AM – Home Depot 85 Main St Tewksbury 📍 Feb 28 – 10 AM- Target 181 Plain St Lowell

For decades, Home Depot has profited from immigrant labor—now its silence enables ICE raids that terrorize workers and communities. Target has also allowed ICE activity while backing policies that harm immigrants. They are both supporting this regime of domestic terrorists.

We demand that Home Depot and Target:

Publicly condemn ICE raids

Stop cooperating with ICE

Protect workers and customers

Refuse access to private spaces without a judicial warrant

Stand with our communities, not support the terror against them

Corporations cannot profit from our communities while allowing them to be attacked.

At Home Depot, we will load our carriages with ICE Scrapers and / or de-icer, and purchase them (until they sell out). Then we will all get in the customer service line to return them.

At Target, we will load our carriages with a container of Salt, and purchase it. Then we will all get in the customer service line to return them.

IMPORTANT- BRING CASH!! No need for them to have our info to tattle to ICE, and it takes longer for a cash purchase and return.

✊ Nonviolent action. Community defense. ICE OUT. Join us.

ICE Out For Good

February 21 @ 11:00 am 12:00 pm EST

Wednesday, January 7th, an American citizen was killed by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This killing is part of a broader pattern of unchecked violence, impunity, and abuse carried out by federal immigration enforcement agencies against members of our communities.

A broad coalition of groups across the country is calling for a coordinated Ice Out For Good Weekend of Actions until further notice to demand accountability, honor the life lost, and make visible the human cost of ICE’s actions.

Bring Flags 🇺🇸🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️, your friends, your families, your students, your classmates, your teachers and anyone else you know.

A core principle behind all ICE Out For Good events is a commitment to nonviolent action and no civil disobedience. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values, and to act lawfully at these events. ICE Out For Good Funding Fight Phonebank

Virtual Event

February 17 @ 1:00 pm 3:00 pm EST

Our communities are being terrorized by masked federal agents. They’re teargassing babies, kidnapping our neighbors, shooting clergy in the face with chemical projectiles, and killing innocent people.

We have an opportunity to rein in ICE and Border Patrol at the federal level. Congress is currently negotiating funding for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), which includes ICE and Border Patrol. We are demanding our Members of Congress write a bill that stops the violence in our communities and holds ICE and Border Patrol agents accountable. This is our opportunity to put significant restrictions on these agencies and ensure they don’t get a single penny more to enable their brutality.

Join us every Tuesday at 1 p.m. EST while DHS funding is being negotiated to engage voters in key states and encourage them to call their Members of Congress and tell them to hold the line and demand that ICE’s terror tactics be stopped for good.

(This event is presented by Indivisible Project.)
