This immigration bystander training aims to provide you with tools and strategies to safely and effectively respond when witnessing immigration enforcement. Stand with Etel & Ashley at Worcester District Court

February 10 @ 8:30 am February 11 @ 4:30 pm EST

On Tuesday, February 10, community members are invited to show up in quiet solidarity for Etel Haxhiaj and Ashley Spring as they face a jury trial in Worcester District Court.

This is not a protest. It is a coordinated, respectful courtroom presence, a visible reminder that the community is paying attention, values due process, and rejects the criminalization of people who acted to protect their neighbors.

Our goal is simple: keep the courtroom seats filled throughout the day with calm, respectful observers.

What to Expect: This is an inside-the-courtroom presence. Attendees will go through courthouse security and sit silently in Room 23. No signs, chanting, or demonstrations are permitted. Timing may shift, so we are organizing coverage in blocks.

Important Courtroom Rules: No signs, slogans, political clothing, clapping, or verbal reactions. No phones or recording of any kind inside the courthouse or courtroom. Failure to follow decorum rules may negatively impact the case

MCAN Faith Leader Advocacy Day-ALL WELCOME

February 12 @ 10:00 am 2:00 pm EST

Massachusetts Community Action Network (MCAN) is inviting everyone with URGENCY, CLARITY AND HOPE into the next phase of our collective advocacy.

We are showing up holding two truths at once. We acknowledge that the Governor has taken action because our communities spoke out. We’re grateful for the steps she took. At the same time, we must be clear that what has been offered is not enough to fully protect our people.

On Thursday, we are showing up to ensure elected officials understand:

We will not be confused by half measures.
We will not be worn out by slow progress.
We will continue to show up and fight for our communities.

Join us from 10:00–11:00 at the Paulist Center to focus on grounding, spiritual and moral alignment, and clarity about our asks and messaging. Many new people are joining this effort, and we want to create the conditions for everyone to fully understand what we are doing and why.

At 11 am we will head to the State House to the Governor’s office as well as the office’s of other elected officials.

Please read the full description of MCAN’s communications with Governor Healey on the MCAN Website

Talk to Our Neighbors About ICE | Phone Bank with SURJ!

February 17 @ 6:00 pm 9:00 pm EST

Right now is the time to intervene. To step up. To move our people.

As the Trump Administration continues to deploy violent ICE agents to our nation’s cities, we remain clear and centered on the following truths:

  1. White working class Americans have so much to gain by standing in solidarity with our immigrant neighbors.
  2. Trump’s aggressive and violent deployment of ICE is causing many white working class communities to re-evaluate their views and beliefs on immigration.
  3. Listening-forward conversations that support people to reflect on their values, feelings and experiences can shift their attitudes, perspective and behavior.

That’s why we’re channeling these truths into a powerful action that you can take with us.

Join SURJ to talk to key white working class voters about their feelings on Trump’s immigration policies and deployment of ICE in the key congressional districts that will determine control of the House in the 2026 elections.

Together, we can move the needle and build power. No prior experience needed – we’ll provide all the resources, training and support you need to phone bank with us to have these critical conversations at a critical juncture for shaping public opinion and our society’s commonsense beliefs around immigration policy

Signs of Fascism | Roadside Sign-Holding Event

February 21 @ 11:00 am 12:15 pm EST

Twenty hardy volunteers will show drivers a sequence of twenty signs that show different symptoms of authoritarianism. In a bit of political theater, each person stands grim-faced and still — no waving, no smiling. Sign-holders will be spaced out so drivers will have a moment to think about the words on each sign before encountering the next.

Note: This event is organized by a volunteer and is not an Indivisible Acton Area event.

Tell Target to Break Up With ICE

Virtual Event

February 9 @ 8:00 pm 9:00 pm EST

This Valentine’s Day, break up with ICE!

Across the country, our communities are under attack. ICE is tearing families apart, and politicians and corporations like Target are enabling it. Target has deep roots in Minnesota and nationwide influence. By refusing ICE access and collaboration, they could stand on the right side of history, but right now, they’re enabling oppression.

This Valentine’s Day, we’re asking you to stand up and take action with us. SURJ members are organizing actions at Target stores across the country to demand that Target refuse ICE access, stop collaborating, and push for defunding ICE.

By showing up together — in love, in courage, and in solidarity — we can disrupt business as usual, challenge harmful corporate behavior, and inspire others in our communities to stand up for their neighbors and join us in this work.

To get everyone ready to take action, we’re hosting two calls:

Call 1 – February 5, 2026

  • Learn why Target is our target and the impact our actions can have
  • Hear directly from organizers in Minnesota who have already led actions at Target and learn from their experience
  • Get inspired and say yes to organizing an action at your local Target and learn your next steps

Call 2 – February 9, 2026

  • Walk through a step-by-step guide to organizing a Target action
  • Learn the basics of nonviolent direct action, roles, and planning
  • Ask questions and get support as you prepare to show up

Can’t make both calls? No problem. Sign up and we’ll send you the recording so you can still prepare and take action.

Join us to be part of a nationwide wave of love in action. Love melts ICE!

To Immigrants With Love | Valentine’s Week of Action

Virtual Event

February 9 February 15 EST

This Valentine’s Day week, people across the country are coming together to show love and solidarity with immigrant communities—and to reject the violent, intrusive, and unlawful tactics being carried out by the Trump Department of Homeland Security (DHS), including Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

This is a weekend of nonviolent action, collective care, and public accountability. Sign up to show your participation and to receive updates and resources.

Below are 4 simple ways to take part. Choose one or take on several. Every action matters.

1) Share Love & Solidarity on Social Media Use your voice to help flood social media with messages of love, dignity, and solidarity for immigrants and their families.

What to do:

  • Post a message of love and solidarity for immigrant communities Share why you believe immigrants deserve safety, dignity, and due process
  • Lift up stories from your own community if you feel comfortable

Please use this To Immigrants With Love social media toolkit from FWD.us with sample language, graphics, and video templates. Social Toolkit: https://tinyurl.com/5kz75rbf

Why it matters: Public narrative shapes public action. When we show up together online, we counter fear with humanity.

2) Call on Congress: Demand Accountability from ICE and CBP Congress has the power—and the responsibility—to oversee DHS and stop abuses.

What to do:

  • Call or email your U.S. Senators and Representative
  • Demand real accountability, transparency, and consequences for ICE and CBP abuses
  • Oppose any new funding for ICE or CBP without enforceable oversight and accountability

Call the Capitol switchboard and ask to be connected with your members of Congress: (202) 224-3121

You can also use these quick and simple email tools to send your members of Congress a message right now!

3) Plug into Ongoing Immigrant Rights Actions here on Turn Purple 2 Blue!

Here are a few more great groups doing important ongoing work!

National Daylaborer Organizing Network (NDLON) – Adopt a Corner https://ndlon.org/adopt-a-day-labor-corner/

Detention Watch Network – Communities Not Cages https://www.detentionwatchnetwork.org/take-action/communitiesnotcages

United We Dream – Deportation Defense https://unitedwedream.org/our-work/deportation-defense/

The Workers Circle – Freedom Vigils http://freedomvigils.org

4) Commit to Showing Up for Immigrants in Your Community Solidarity doesn’t stop at policy—it lives in our neighborhoods.

What this can look like:

  • Support an immigrant-owned business by donating or buying from them (in MN, local immigrant owned business are struggling to survive, and many might not reopen after the occupation)
  • Connect through schools and parents associations to provide support to immigrant families
  • If you are a religious person, ask your pastor to preach from the pulpit and/or connect through a congregation to provide support to families in need
  • Connect with local mutual aid networks to provide rides, translation, and other kinds of support
  • Hire a day laborer! Providing a day of work with fair pay is an act of solidarity!
  • Bake cookies or share a meal with an immigrant family nearby
  • Simply check in on neighbors who may be feeling afraid or targeted
  • Make it personal: Choose one concrete act of care you can do this weekend—and commit to it.

Our Shared Commitment

This weekend is about more than protest. It’s about choosing love over fear, community over cruelty, and accountability over abuse of power. No matter how you participate, thank you for showing up with compassion, courage, and solidarity.
