Help flip the House.

Hold Republicans accountable in rural and small town America!

Virtual Event

December 16, 2025 @ 7:00 pm 8:00 pm EST

The path to a House Majority runs through rural and small town America.

The Idea: The Rural House Accountability Project

Help Flip the House in the 2026 midterms by highlighting the impact of recent federal policies and budget cuts on rural and small town voters in House districts currently represented by Republicans, and promoting popular policy alternatives.

This can be most effectively done by using hyper-local media to amplify the voices of real people in these communities whose lives and families have been hurt by Republican policies and actions. The specific districts are IA 01, IA 03, PA 07, PA 08, PA10, and WI 03.

How it works

The project has four parts:

  1. Generate hyper-localized messaging about the consequences of Federal cuts and policies using voices of trusted local messengers. For example, in WI 03 a video of a nurse about the danger of losing a local rural ER; in IA 03 a video about the cuts killing broadband funding.
  2. Recruit and train at least 12 rural creators and storytellers in partnership with RDI organizations on the ground in each district focusing on: parents, educators, small business people, veterans, farmers, small-town mayors, nurses, and other working people.
  3. Distribute content across a selection of Real Voices Media’s 500 Facebook and Instagram pages such as Standing Up for the Working Class, and Our Part of Iowa, RDI partner organization social feeds, and peer-to-peer distribution channels, like church listservs and  neighborhood groups.
  4. Integrate relational organizing to close the loops among content creation, distribution, and activation.

Who is doing the work?

The Rural Democracy Initiative is convening the Rural House Accountability Project.

Real Voices Media builds local social media pages, provides technical and digital media expertise, and will take the lead in content creation, training and distribution.

RDI’s local partners such as Main Street Alliance, Iowa Farmers Union and PA Stands Up will  identify local voices and integrate these messages into their on-the-ground accountability, voter education, and mobilization work.

Where does my money go?

Your donation goes to RDI’s c4 Rural Victory Fund to support its partners including Real Voices Media.

Bundle up and join people from across the region to resist Trump’s corrupt regime. Every time we protest, we show that we won’t willingly give up our democratic rights, and we influence more people in our region to vote against Trump allies in next year’s
mind-term elections.

Our nationwide pro-democracy organization’s core principle is a commitment to nonviolent protest and legal political action. Our rallies include trained personnel for de-escalating any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.

Justice 4 All Thursdays

January 8 @ 11:00 am 1:00 pm EST

Greater Assabet Indivisible Network (GAIN) invites you to stand in solidarity with immigrants and resistance to ICE and their cruel and lawless detention of our neighbors Thursdays from 11am-1pm. Regardless of any other political views, you are welcome to join us and demand Justice 4 All so long as you do so non-violently.

Our friends at Bearing Witness have been hosting gatherings at this location for many weeks. We are an unaffiliated group, but very much aligned with their values and mission. Our goal is to add to the total number of hours that citizens stand in non-violent opposition to the deplorable detainment conditions at this location. If you have been to Bearing Witness on Wednesdays, we would love to have you at Justice 4 All Thursdays.

Schedule

11:00-11:30 Welcome; music; announcements
11:30-12:30 Stand with signs along District Ave
12:30-1:00 Optional short march down to Mall Rd.

Weather

All attendees are ultimately responsible for making their own decisions about travel.  The organizers are going to use the following guidelines to modify or cancel events in advance.  A sudden change in conditions just before or during events, such as a tornado warning or severe thunderstorm warning, could happen and organizers will do their best to communicate any decisions appropriately.

No change to event:
Normal to heavy Rain
Windy, but no warnings
Light snow on ground, but not falling

Storm advisory with snow or high wind predicted
Freezing rain falling or predicted

Shorten event in advance, limit to standout:

What happens at this ICE office?

ICE personnel depart from District Ave. in unmarked vans with tinted windows on missions to abduct immigrants across New England. Immigrants may also show up at the office for appointments. The facility on District Ave was never intended to be a detention center, yet immigration lawyers and media interviews reveal that people are now being housed here in conditions that have been called “abysmal” and “unsanitary.”

What to expect at Justice 4 All?

We are committed to nonviolence, and we stand peacefully with signs outside the facility. We do not block the entrance, we do not physically approach ICE agents as they walk to/from the parking lot, and we do not block traffic on District Ave.

Signs

This is a very targeted action outside the ICE facility, so it’s not the venue for protesting other causes. Even though we care deeply about other issues, while outside ICE we must remain focused on immigration.

Parking and other tips

For parking, please use the Macy’s overflow lot (75 Burlington Mall Road, follow signs for Macy’s, see map). For those with mobility challenges, please keep in mind that the lots closest to ICE — the FAA lot beside ICE and the BAE Systems lot directly across the street from ICE — have both been blocked off. There are restaurants nearby (Clover, Pressed Cafe, Chipotle) to get food and use the bathroom. Before arriving, please consider your own self-preservation (citizenship status) and self-care (sunscreen, hydration, etc.).

If you would like to receive updates on Justice4All Thursdays and reminders of our events, please add your email below to join our list. We’re excited to reinforce the work of our friends at Bearing Witness and to support our immigrant neighbors. We hope that you will join us.

See you in Burlington!

December 26, 2025 @ 11:00 am 1:00 pm EST

THIS EVENT IS MOVED TO FRIDAY BECAUSE OF THE HOLIDAY.

New: A member is organizing donations to hand out to immigrants leaving the facility- she accepts clean, warm clothing, food, or cash contributions. Since the food is distributed immediately and it is cold outside, she also accepts fresh fruit and vegetables.

Origami in Action : Birds of Peace & Compassion

January 6 @ 1:00 pm 2:30 pm EST

Join us as we continue to learn the basics of origami, and explore various types of birds. We will discuss using our newly learned in skills in creating origami as a protest art. You are welcome to come, relax, and join us in simply creating origami.

Or, you have the option to join us in the following action….

We hope to create as many origami birds as possible. Long considered a symbol of peace and hope, we plan to come together and deliver them to the nearest ice detention center on President’s Day, February 16, 2026.

Perhaps we’ll gather them in a garland to hang on a fence or from a tree. It won’t matter if there is one bird or an entire flock—the symbolism is the same: In these times of chaos and lack of empathy, where hatred is made acceptable, we will stand together for peace. We will stand for the love of one another. We will recognize the inherent worth of all of us, no matter from where we come. We will reaffirm that all people deserve to be treated with respect, justice, equity and compassion.

We welcome you to join us.

Feel free to contact us with any questions you might have, at salemscall@yahoo.com.

This is a free workshop. Donations appreciated, but certainly not required.

Located at Deborah & Meara’s house

A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
