On Tuesday, July 29, we’re taking it to Beacon Hill to demand bold action on the housing crisis. Lawmakers are holding a hearing on rent control โ and we’re making sure they hear from us, not just lobbyists.
Join us for a rally at 11:30 AM on the front steps of the State House to show powerful support for S.1447 / H.2328, the statewide rent control and just cause eviction bill.
โ Protect renters from being priced out โ Stop unfair evictions โ Let cities and towns decide what’s right for them
Congress will soon head home for August recess, just weeks after Republicans approved Trumpโs Big Bullshit Bill to take healthcare and meals from millions while funneling tax breaks to billionaires.
Congressional recess gives us an opportunity to tell representatives how their votes hurt our communities and organize to hold Republicans accountable. At theย Accountability August info session this Wednesday, July 23, Congressman Greg Casar, Indivisible, and our partners will present the tools to make the most of that opportunity.
Preach beyond the choir with our new social toolkit
Social media and online conversations are powerful tools to share vital truths and grow our movement, but too often, progressives find ourselves messaging specifically to the people who already agree with us!
To build the multi-racial, multi-generational movement needed to stop Trumpโs power-grab, we have to bring new folks into the fold — particularly those who might not share all our views or follow the same news sources. Thatโs why weโre launching TRUTH & SHARE: a new social toolkit featuring shareable news from across the web thatโll help toxify Trump and MAGA.

The Temporary Protected Status (TPS) program is under attack under the Trump Administration. Currently over one million immigrants from 17 countries are at risk of losing their TPS protection regardless of if it is safe to return to countries experiencing war and other disasters. Right now the Trump Administration has announced the termination of TPS for approximately 600,000 Venezuelans and 500,000 Haitians, 9,360 Afghans, 3,485 Cameroon, 7,505 Nepalese, 2,935 Nicaraguans, 52,585 Hondurans, but we know that is just the beginning of his attempts to remove people living in the United States legally.
TPS was created in 1990 by Congress to provide a clear process for America to live out its founding ideals by providing humanitarian assistance to people fleeing war and natural disasters. The people who receive TPS protections have become integral to local communities, we are your co-workers and neighbors, we shop at local businesses and we pay taxes that help improve the lives of everyone. Many of us have had children while living here who are US citizens that go to school with your children or are taught by you in your classrooms. Removal of TPS protections will have widespread impacts on 1.5 million people across the United States with TPS status, not to mention the millions of US citizen school aged children of TPS holders.
On July 29, attorneys representing the Alliance will present an emergency motion before a new judge, who has taken over this case, to protect families with TPS from these countries. It is critical for our communities to be visible and united at this moment.
Then, on August 1, the attorneys will present a motion before Judge Edward Chen, urging him to make a final decision in the case defending TPS protections for Venezuela and Haiti.
This is urgent: the Supreme Court removed emergency protections, and now Venezuelan families are already being deported to their country of origin.
We must stand together and show up to defend our communities and demand permanent protection for all TPS families.
The Comite TPS Massachusetts is one of the leading TPS Committees in the National TPS Alliance. We are reaching out today with urgency.
On Tuesday, July 29th,2025 at 5:00 PM, we will be holding a Vigil in front of the Federal Building in Boston to raise awareness and show solidarity with families at risk of losing their TPS protections.
