Iowa is a deep red state with a Republican trifecta and state legislature. However, negative economic factors such as tariffs and cost increases on diesel and fertilizer from the Iran war are beginning to change the political landscape if not the culture. At present, there are very competitive races for Governor, U.S. House and Senate that are leading some political analysts to suggest Iowa could behave more like a swing state in the future.
