Join Swing Left on a day trip to knock doors with Ground Truth—our deep-listening canvassing program. We’re heading to Lewiston, Maine—a must-win Swing District—to knock on doors and build trust to persuade voters to support Troy Jackson. You don’t need to be a policy expert—just a good listener!
The Mission: Deep Listening
This isn’t your standard canvass. Through Ground Truth, we are changing how Democrats talk—and more importantly listen—to voters:
- Knock More Doors: We don’t narrowly target likely Democrats. We cast a wide net and to truly understand the pulse of the community – and find people open to voting for Dems.
- Deep Listening: We have real, two-way conversations. We’re not pitching or arguing; we’re listening to voter experiences, fears, and values. Then we’re sharing a bit about our candidate to win them over once trust is already built.
- Capture Insights: You’ll be taking detailed notes on the voters you meet. These insights help us identify persuadable voters and provide campaigns with the deep intelligence they need to win.
What to expect:
- The Trip: The bus will leave South Station at 9:00am and return around 7:00pm.
- Canvassing: We’ll be knocking on doors in the district from roughly 11:00-5:00pm with a break in the middle.
- Preparation: You’ll receive all training materials, location details, and support from your bus captain. You will be walking door-to-door, so comfortable shoes, a water bottle, and weather appropriate clothing like sunscreen, a hat, and an umbrella/poncho are recommended.
