Rage against the Regime-Salem

August 2, 2025 @ 12:00 pm 1:30 pm EDT

Brought to us by the folks at 50501, this August 2nd marks a pivotal National Day of Action, uniting communities across the nation in a shared purpose: Rage Against the Regime. Salem’s Call is organizing a Rally in Riley Plaza, transforming our frustration and anger into action, harnessing the energy of collective resistance.

The event will feature speakers from Salem’s community, a moment of silence for those who have passed in ICE custody, as well as songs and chants. As usual, you are invited to leand your voice by speaking of how the actions of the Trump administration have affected you, or do a reading (which we can provide), lead a chant, sing – the choice is yours. We come together to stand strong, bold, and unyielding, showing the world the irresistible force of communities united against injustice. Rage without action is noise. Together, we make history.

Please join us.

This a local Indivisible event!

A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.

Families First Standout & Family Fun-Ipswich

July 26, 2025 @ 12:00 pm 1:00 pm EDT

On July 26, Americans in every corner of the country will come together in peaceful marches, rallies, and actions to say: our families come first—not billionaires, not authoritarians, and not corrupt politicians.

We demand an end to policies that harm children, seniors, and our families. We reject the Administration’s actions that have gutted essential programs like Medicaid, FEMA, food stamps, school lunches, and more, all so a handful of billionaires can get tax giveaways.

We are coming together to say in unity: our families come first.

A core principle behind all Families First events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.

All are welcome. Bring family and friends.

No Cookies for Fascists

August 6, 2025 @ 5:30 pm 7:00 pm EDT

Protest w/ a bake sale!!!! Possible speakers at the event: activists & politicians

Location: outside of the Plymouth County Correctional Facility (PCCF), the intersection sidewalks and grassy area across from alltown fresh, by the PCCF sign.

No cookies for fascists! In the interest of directness and truth, ICE is lawless and dangerous. ICE has been employing paramilitary tactics that are authoritarian/fascist in nature, particularly in relation to its treatment of immigrant communities. Its methods reflect a broader trend of state-sanctioned violence and oppression. By collaborating with ICE, Sheriff McDonald is giving his stamp of approval to the current fascist regime in our country. Sheriff McDonald is the only sheriff in the state that still has an agreement with ICE. We must put an end to this immediately, to show that Massachusetts is a strong progressive leader for the rest of our country that wants a better future for all.

Sheriff McDonald, end the ICE agreement now! Plymouth County Correctional Facility (PCCF) should not be helping ICE kidnap and disappear anyone! PCCF is the only facility in the state of Massachusetts with an ICE agreement. The agreement allows ICE to house migrants. The renewed 5 year contract signed last year increased the immigrant detention capacity by 35%. When Channel V Boston, WCVB, asked Sheriff McDonald in April 2025 if he worried about being complicit in sending people out of the country who shouldn’t be sent, he said, he doesn’t worry about it. https://www.wcvb.com/article/massachusetts-ice-holding-facility-plymouth-county/64445839 Kidnapping anyone, without due process, is not public safety! The only minority ruining the country are billionaires. https://www.pressreader.com/usa/the-boston-globe/20241121/281762749801818

Primary hosts: Mid-Cape Indivisible, Cape Cod Women for Change, Indivisible Upper Cape Supporting hosts: Mass 50501, Indivisible South Coast New England, Indivisible Plymouth, Indivisible South Shore, Indivisible Outer Cape, Lower Cape Indivisible, Nauset Citizens Alliance, Together We Thrive Boston, Coalition for Social Justice (Falmouth), Falmouth Immigrant Rights Coalition

Action Steps:

  1. Attend the Protest
  2. Help Pass Critical State Legislation: Take a minute or two to send these prewritten letters to your state
Senators and Representatives, to ask them to cosponsor these important bills suggested by MIRA and ACLU MA.

2a. https://actionnetwork.org/letters/poic-cosponsor/ (Immigrant Legal Defense Act (H.1954 / S.1127)), and the Safe Communities Act.(H.2580 / S.1681))

2b. https://action.aclu.org/send-message/ma-privacy-and-protection the Location Shield Act (HD2965/SD501) and the Dignity Not Deportations Act (HD3596/SD1107). https://action.aclu.org/send-message/ma-support-location-shield

2c. And/or call your Massachusetts State Senators and Representatives to support critical legislation (Find out who represents you and how to reach them here. )

2d. An Act Ensuring Law Enforcement Identification and Public Trust (HD.4886). This proposal addresses the blatant abuse of power our communities are suffering at the hands of masked federal agents and would restrict the use of face coverings and require self-identification for agents operating in Massachusetts. (no prewritten script/message yet) https://www.change.org/p/unmask-ice-in-massachusetts?

2e. Sign Petition: Unmask ICE in Mass https://www.bluestatedefiance.org/no-secret-police? Following the example of leaders working to hold law enforcement accountable for such actions, you can help turn up the pressure your governor, state reps, and town council (email or phone) to take concrete steps to stop Trump’s authoritarian immigration crackdown

  1. Make Donations: We will be holding a bake sale at the protest, with all proceeds going to the LUCE (Liberation, Union, Community, Esperanza/Esperança/Espoir/Espwa (Hope)) hotline and other initiatives, which is part of the Immigration Justice Network of Massachusetts. We will also be accepting general cash donations. https://www.lucemass.org/

LUCE Principles: We are a coalition of immigrant-led, grassroots organizations who build people power for everyone across Massachusetts. We move grounded in our principles of justice and equity, with a deep commitment to keeping all of our communities safe through grassroots organizing, information sharing, and mutual aid.

LUCE Vision: We hold a collective vision for a People’s immigration justice, and refuse to accept that meeting one demand means not meeting another. While we may focus on a particular demand that uplifts a particular community, we refuse to leave anyone behind because of their marginalized identity.

We know that all of us are deserving of collective liberation. We organize in solidarity with Black, Indigenous, and People of Color, immigrants and refugees, people who are targets of criminalization and currently or formerly incarcerated, young people, elders, LGBTQ+ people, and all those who are oppressed and living at the margins due to the broken system of “justice” within the U.S.

(Regarding donations: Neighbor to Neighbor MA Education Fund, a 501c3, is collecting contributions to the LUCE hotline on behalf of the Immigrant Justice Network of MA. All contributions made through this page will be used to support the LUCE hotline and other LUCE initiatives.)

Goals and Demands for State Elected Officials: 1. We call on Sheriff Joseph D McDonald to improve the inhumane conditions (eg- overcrowding, unsanitary conditions, and abuse by staff) at the Plymouth County Correctional Facility, for all detainees. 2. We call on Sheriff Joseph D McDonald to end all contracts that allow Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office to house ICE detainees or provide ICE related services. 3. We call on our state senators and representatives to pass crucial legislation that will keep our communities safe: An Act Ensuring Law Enforcement Identification and Public Trust (HD.4886), the Location Shield Act (HD2965/SD501), the Dignity Not Deportations Act (HD3596/SD1107), Immigrant Legal Defense Act (H.1954 / S.1127), the Safe Communities Act.(H.2580 / S.1681) 4. We call on Governor Maura Healey to use her authority to protect Massachusetts’ immigrant communities by declaring a statewide policy of non-cooperation with ICE and other federal agencies that ignore due process and act outside the rule of law. Statewide policy shall include that if called to the scene, local or state police will act to prevent extrajudicial kidnappings of MA residents. They shall verify a) the authenticity of an agent’s identification (i.e., badge), and b) their authority to arrest the person in question (i.e., warrant). 5. We call on Attorney General Andrea Campbell to pursue prosecution of ICE for kidnapping Massachusetts residents under state law. 6. We also call on Attorney General (AG) Campbell to prosecute federal agents, who are by law required to identify themselves, but refuse to by wearing masks and not showing badges; as well as any non-agent individuals serving as MAGA mercenaries while impersonating federal agents.

A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.

Rage Against the Regime-Cambridge

August 2, 2025 @ 12:00 pm 4:00 pm EDT

“Do not go gentle into that good night
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.”

— Dylan Thomas

We’ve marched. We’ve rallied. We’ve protested. It’s time to step up our game. It’s time to harness our collective nonviolent power to resist every single day. It’s time to start building our dream of a better America in our own communities. We can’t wait until the regime is gone to start liberating our future.

On August 2, we invite the people of Massachusetts to join us for a festival of nonviolent resistance from 12pm – 4pm on Cambridge Common with art, live music, education, and ice cream, where we can build and strengthen the community networks we will all need to channel our rage into nonviolent action.

Learn from Mass 50501 and others about the strategy of nonviolent civil resistance and tactics of noncooperation. Connect with local groups doing vital community work, from organizing mutual aid for those in need to fighting for immigrants’ rights.

Come for the festival. Stay for the resistance.
