Greater Methuen Indivisible Monthly Meeting: Meet, Greet, and Plan! | Community Gathering in Methuen

April 29 @ 7:00 pm 8:30 pm EDT

This a local Indivisible event!

Welcome to Greater Methuen Indivisible (GMI)! You are invited to get to know like-minded concerned citizens, to discuss local, state, and national issues, and to plan actions we can take in our community that support our values. We meet the last Wednesday of each month from 7-8:30pm at the Nevin’s Library. Your energy, skills, and ideas are essential as we continue to make positive contributions to our community together. Look forward to seeing you!

A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.

Movement Call: National Day of Action to Stop ICE Warehouse Detention

Virtual Event

April 14 @ 8:00 pm 9:00 pm EDT

The Trump administration is converting warehouses across the country into mass detention facilities โ€” and communities are already fighting back. Join Indivisible, Detention Watch Network, Disappeared in America, and other partners on April 14th for a one-hour national training call where you will learn the tactics and strategies to host actions in defense of immigrants in your community. On April 25th , weโ€™re coming together for the Communities Not Cages National Day of Action to show up in defense of immigrants through hosting non-violent and peaceful local actions. That day is our first step, and we’re going to make sure you’re ready.

This call is for everyone, including if you live near an existing or proposed site. On this call, you will:

-Hear directly from organizers at a frontline site fight about what they’re planning.

-Get an overview and resources so you can host a safe, effective event in your community.

-Register your actions live on Mobilize, with step-by-step support.

There’s a role for everyone, whether you’re in a community with a proposed warehouse facility or not. We’ll make sure you leave with everything you need to take action on April 25th and beyond.

We Ride on Patriot’s Day Weekend!

On Saturday we meet at Paul Revere Park across from the playground in Charlestown at 10am and roughly take Paul Revere’s route to Lexington Center Patriot’s Day parade.

For our first ride we will use our 2025 12.7-mile route (bike paths + roads), but youโ€™re welcome to join or leave at the waypoints where we rally and connect.

Route: Boston โ†’ Davis Sq (3.9 mi) Davis Sq โ†’ Arlington Center (3.8 mi) Arlington Center โ†’ Lexington Center (5 mi)

10:00am โ€“ Meet at Paul Revere Park near the playground (North Washington St., Charlestown) โ€“ rain or shine

10:45โ€“11:00am โ€“ 7 Hills Park, Davis Square, Somerville behind the T station

11:30โ€“11:45am โ€“ Uncle Sam Statue, Arlington Center

Ending Point โ€“ Lexington Center, Minuteman Bikeway

On Monday we do a reverse trip to Boston’s Patriot’s Day Parade.

Ride for Our Republic is a recurring pro-democracy bike ride held on the last Saturday of each month that was held April-October 2025. In the spirit of Paul Revere and on the 250th anniversary of the first American Revolution, we ride to sound the alarm of tyranny and fight for our democracy.

Fascism cannot flourish where joy and solidarity thrive. That truth is the heartbeat of Ride for Our Republic: a growing community of cyclists reclaiming Bostonโ€™s streets and bike paths as spaces of protest, hope, and joyful resistance.

Please follow our facebook page: www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100088170471304

Our monthly #Ride4Republic bike protests will go from April to October 2026.

Bring: bright colors or neon, pro-democracy costumes or signs (bike frame, basket, shirt, or bag), American flags, and No Kings signs.

Donโ€™t forget water, snacks, packed lunch, sunscreen, bike lock, and other ride supplies.
