Since 2019, nine prominent Wall Street banks have pledged to stop financing CoreCivic and GEO Group, two companies that build and operate ICE detention centers, but Citizens Bank has continued. Spread the word and join your neighbors in a peaceful protest in front of the Citizens Bank in Arlington Heights.

The next major national action isn’t another protest – it’s flexing our collective economic and non-cooperation muscle. Earlier this year, Minnesota residents organized a Day of Truth and Action, where teachers, faith leaders, workers, students, and business leaders refused work, school, and shopping on a single Friday in January to send a powerful message of resistance to the actions of the Trump administration and its corporate enablers.
Here in MA, actions are being organized by unions and immigrant groups. The focus will be on building local power, protecting our neighbors, strengthening our capacity for noncooperation, and defending our elections from sabotage. There are already events being planned for Boston, including a rally on the Common at 4:30 PM. As more Boston actions are finalized, they will be posted HERE.
Join our national call on April 9th at 8pm ET to hear the latest from the May Day Strong network: including our demands for May 1, the cities that have committed to No Work No School No Shopping, and how we are building the power needed to stop the billionaire agenda and build a future for our families.
We’ll break down what’s happening May 1st, why it matters, and how you can join us.

Our current presidential administration seems intent on erasing critical aspects of American history, both historic injustice, and the struggles for freedom and democracy that are parts of our past. Led by community member and friend of the store Bob Van Meter, the Resistance Book Club will read works that tell important parts of that history.
The book club will meet on the third Friday of the month at 10:30 AM here at the store. Join the resistance book club at The Silver Unicorn bookstore on Friday April 17th at 10:30 AM as we discuss our second book, Lady Justice by Dahlia Lithwick.
IIn Lady Justice, Dahlia Lithwick, one of the nation’s foremost legal commentators, illuminates these many heroes of the Trump years. From Sally Yates and Becca Heller, who fought the Muslim travel ban, to Roberta Kaplan, who sued the neo-Nazis in Charlottesville, to Stacey Abrams, who worked to protect the voting rights of millions of Georgians, Lithwick dramatizes in thrilling detail the women lawyers who worked tirelessly to hold the line against the most chaotic presidency in living memory.
In our continued effort to stay engaged and advocate for change, we are hosting a Postcarding for Justice event on Saturday, April 11 at 10am at The Java Room in Chelmsford.
Writing to Congress is a simple but powerful way to ensure our community’s values are visible to our representatives. Whether you’re a seasoned advocate or looking for your first way to get involved, we would love to have you join us.
A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
The goal of this peaceful standout is to raise awareness of fascist warning signs: silencing free speech, demonizing opponents, curtailing elections, cult of personality, and more.
This is a silent protest action. You do not need to bring a sign. We will have 20 black signs with white letters. Each person will hold one of our signs. If more than 20 folks sign-up, we’ll also hold flags and other signs.
We’re scheduling this event for one hour, April 11 from 10 – 11 am.

Please note a change in our usual meeting location: We will be gathering at First Parish UU. We are grateful for the space and look forward to seeing your faces there!
Whether you’ve been with us since the beginning or are just finding your way to this work, your voice matters in these conversations. We can’t do this without you.
