Worcester Indivisible Marshal Training

Virtual Event

April 14 @ 7:00 pm 8:30 pm EDT

Want to help keep our actions safe, organized, and powerful? Join us for an official Marshal Training hosted by Worcester Indivisible. Whether you’re brand new to nonviolent direct action or just want to brush up on your skills, this session will cover both NVDA essentials and marshal techniques — open to anyone ready to learn and support actions in any role.

We’ll cover: What is NVDA [Non-Violent Direct Action] What a marshal is and why they matter How to cork intersections and control flow Leapfrogging techniques to support mobile protests/marches De-escalation tips and safety awareness Signal App 101 for secure group communication How to support accessibility and inclusion on the ground And most importantly — how to keep each other safe while standing up for justice

📣 This training will be interactive, and discussion based. You’ll leave with real tactics, scripts, and tools you can use right away. We’ll also go over what to do in case of police presence, counter-protesters, or emergencies. No prior experience is required — just bring your curiosity, your questions, and your commitment to keeping our community strong. You are also not required to Marshal at any time by attending this event, we encourage anyone and everyone to attend it simply to grow their skills and feel more comfortable during actions.

🧭 This is a great entry point if you’ve ever thought: “I want to help, but I don’t know where to start.” Please RSVP so we can plan for time. Let’s build the infrastructure we need for bold, safe, and effective action in Central MA!

 Indivisible Westford’s April Monthly Meeting

April 12 @ 4:30 pm 6:30 pm EDT

This month’s agenda:

  • No Kings 3 – did you attend a rally? If you did, you are probably aware that there is an emphasis on your action plans coming out of the rally. At our meeting, we will take some time to guide you through making your plan and/or reviewing the plan you have already made.
  • Westford Town Election – Candidate Speakers. We have confirmed that
    • Tom Clay

    • Chris Barrett

    • Scott Hamilton

    • Elizabeth Sawyer
Will be joining us. Each candidate will give their “elevator” speech to us, then have a brief (10m) Q/A. This is your chance to get to know the candidates better.

Join us for the monthly meeting of the Indivisible Westford Progressive Massachusetts chapter.

A more detailed agenda will be published about a week prior to the meeting, however, the format of our meetings, in general, is:

General discussion – we always try to leave time for open discussion and questions.

Local issues – town elections, budget issues, conservation committee, etc. May include presentations from candidates. Primarily for the town of Westford, but surrounding towns (Chelmsford, Acton) may also be discussed as appropriate.

State issues – as the legislative session gets underway, we will be involved in initiatives with the guidance from Progressive Mass, Indivisible Mass Coalition, and other organizations.  We will keep you informed and involved.

National issues – as things get rolling with the new administration, and we get direction from the national Indivisible organization, we will share with you. We will also give an update on our post card writing events and what is coming up with that effort.

Earth Day Standout

April 11 @ 2:00 pm 3:00 pm EDT

Let’s continue the momentum and stand out for democracy with our signs and our enthusiasm. As we begin a new endeavor here in Haverhill, monthly theme suggestions will be provided for your sign making. During April we honor our planet in celebration of Earth Day. If you want to join in this theme, try one of these slogans for your poster:

  1. Power the future with green energy.
  2. Save the Earth. Save our future.
  3. Conserve today. Preserve tomorrow.
  4. Go green, and go clean!
  5. Don’t let Earth become history.
  6. Small Steps, Big Impact.
  7. Protect our species. Protect our future.
  8. Power the future with clean energy!
  9. Heal the earth. Heal ourselves.
  10. Save the animals from fossil fuels!
  11. Believe in science. Address climate change.

If you have any other issue that is important to you, grab that sign and join us. Remember, we’re at Bradford Common, not White’s Corner for this and future, more frequently scheduled standouts.

Tell Massport to STOP VIOLATING OUR STATE CONSTITUTION AT HANSCOM FIELD

New 3rd LETTER CAMPAIGN – PLEASE SEND AGAIN!

This updated letter demands that Massport follows it own rules and the directive of Governor Healey.

This updated letter urges Massport leadership to immediately halt ICE charter flights from Hanscom Field that have been used to remove more than 2,000 Massachusetts residents without due process. Citing Governor Healey’s December 12 letter, binding Massachusetts case law, and recent federal court injunctions, it makes clear that Massport has the responsibility to stop facilitating these transfers, require transparency, enforce compliance with state law, and protect residents’ constitutional rights.
This version incorporates new developments. Even if you sent the previous version, sending the updated letter reinforces public pressure at a critical moment and ensures Massport hears that constituents expect immediate action based on the most current facts and legal landscape. Lexington Alarm’s form makes this quick and easy.

Take part in a new campaign to demand action from Massport organized by the De-ICE Hanscom coalition. To join their easy email- and letter-writing action, click here.

Brockton Singing Resistance organizing meeting

Virtual Event

April 13 @ 7:00 pm 7:30 pm EDT

Minneapolis showed us the power of Singing Resistance, catalyzing the formation of groups all around the country. A few of us in Brockton brought increased energy and joy to NO KINGS Brockton, and we want to continue singing at protests.

Brockton Singing Resistance is planned not to be a choir, but instead to get other people singing and adding energy to protests and other events. Outdoor singing is challenging, so we prioritize enthusiasm and loudness over vocal skill — and no music experience necessary. If we succeed it is not by pleasing listeners, but by getting others to sing!

It’s practically impossible to sing live at this (very short!) Zoom meeting, but we CAN Zoom to see how many are interested in an ongoing Brockton Singing Resistance, and decide when to meet in person, and decide what comes next!

In the meantime, here are two YouTube playlists. The first contains a variety of music that livened up NO KINGS Brockton, while the second is the songs we sang when we gathered for that purpose — these are simple and repetitive so people can learn them on the fly. See how you like them! Bring a playlist or song ideas of your own to share at the Zoom!

A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
