Shutdown Showdown -Worcester

November 6, 2025 @ 3:30 pm 4:30 pm EST

The rain has passed, the winds will have died down and the sun will be shining this Thursday when we gather for our weekly Shutdown Showdown!

We are moving to the intersection of Park Avenue and Highland Street, at Elm Park. Parking is available in the Price Chopper parking lot. It would be great to have a few more participants so we can cover all 4 corners to remind people who is behind the Shutdown of our House of Representatives. We have the signs. We need people to hold them.

The timing of our standout has been reduced to an hour and moved 15 minutes earlier to accommodate the time change. Dress warm and wear gloves. I know we are getting to MAGA supporters. One woman yelled “You people have no life. You’re wasting your time showing up here every week!” That tells me we are noticed, and getting under their skin. That, and the honks and waves from the passers by, warms my heart and keeps me coming back! Hope to see you there!

Justice 4 All Thursdays

November 6, 2025 @ 11:00 am 1:00 pm EST

Greater Assabet Indivisible Network (GAIN) invites you to stand in solidarity with immigrants and resistance to ICE and their cruel and lawless detention of our neighbors Thursdays from 11am-1pm, starting September 4. Regardless of any other political views, you are welcome to join us and demand Justice 4 All so long as you do so non-violently.

Our friends at Bearing Witness have been hosting gatherings at this location for many weeks. We are an unaffiliated group, but very much aligned with their values and mission. Our goal is to add to the total number of hours that citizens stand in non-violent opposition to the deplorable detainment conditions at this location. If you have been to Bearing Witness on Wednesdays, we would love to have you at Justice 4 All Thursdays.

Schedule (Starting Thursday, September 4 – more dates to follow)

11:00-11:30 Welcome; music; announcements
11:30-12:30 Stand with signs along District Ave
12:30-1:00 Optional short march down to Mall Rd.

What happens at this ICE office?

ICE personnel depart from District Ave. in unmarked vans with tinted windows on missions to abduct immigrants across New England. Immigrants may also show up at the office for appointments. The facility on District Ave was never intended to be a detention center, yet immigration lawyers and media interviews reveal that people are now being housed here in conditions that have been called “abysmal” and “unsanitary.”

What to expect at Justice 4 All?

We are committed to nonviolence, and we stand peacefully with signs outside the facility. We do not block the entrance, we do not physically approach ICE agents as they walk to/from the parking lot, and we do not block traffic on District Ave.

Signs

This is a very targeted action outside the ICE facility, so it’s not the venue for protesting other causes. Even though we care deeply about other issues, while outside ICE we must remain focused on immigration.

Parking and other tips

For parking, please use the Macy’s overflow lot (75 Burlington Mall Road, follow signs for Macy’s, see map). For those with mobility challenges, please keep in mind that the lots closest to ICE — the FAA lot beside ICE and the BAE Systems lot directly across the street from ICE — have both been blocked off. There are restaurants nearby (Clover, Pressed Cafe, Chipotle) to get food and use the bathroom. Before arriving, please consider your own self-preservation (citizenship status) and self-care (sunscreen, hydration, etc.).

If you would like to receive updates on Justice4All Thursdays and reminders of our events, please add your email below to join our list. We’re excited to reinforce the work of our friends at Bearing Witness and to support our immigrant neighbors. We hope that you will join us.

See you in Burlington!

Safeguarding your Health in the Trump Era

November 9, 2025 @ 4:00 pm 5:30 pm EST

The government should protect our health. But under the Trump Administration, there is a bullseye on health and well-being. Join us to hear from a panel of experts.

The CDC has been decimated. Vaccines have been targeted. Medical research has been slowed—or halted. What’s more, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has been spouting health misinformation at an alarming rate.

Here in Massachusetts, the “Big Beautiful Bill,”could result in up to 300,000 residents losing their healthcare coverage. Thousands more may see steep premium hikes. And many more will be negatively impacted by cuts to SNAP and mental health services.

Join us for a panel discussion on where healthcare is headed both locally and nationally. We’ll also look at the impact on the overall Massachusetts healthcare system, which was named number one in affordability and access by The Commonwealth Fund this year. Most importantly, we will discuss how the current environment will impact your health—and what you can do about it.

Please bring non-perishable food, personal hygiene items, diapers, and/or grocery gift cards for Lazarus House.

Feel free to submit questions for the panelists to the right, under your name and zip code. (There will also be live Q&A at the event.)

Randolph Resistance Meeting

November 11, 2025 @ 6:00 pm 8:00 pm EST

We come together to bring the fight for democracy home. We’ll be discussing plans for protecting our immigrant neighbors, creating safe zones in schools, overpass standouts and extending our message through art and music.

A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
