Join Boxborough Democrats for postcards and camaraderie. RSVP appreciated but not required. Can’t make it on Monday night? Email boxborough.dtc@gmail.com to reserve a postcard packet and arrange a pickup alternative.
This training will teach you to launch and sustain podcasts designed to build trust, counter disinformation, and strengthen democracy at the community level. We will cover:
*A call to action inviting volunteers to define their role (host, co-host, producer) and start small, authentic conversations
*Why local podcasting matters, especially in swing states and rural areas dominated by right-wing media
*How non-political storytelling and shared values can engage silent voters and bypass tribal polarization
*A step-by-step guide to planning, producing, and promoting a local podcast with minimal resources
*Real-world examples and a Quick Start Checklist to help volunteers take immediate action
Turn “I Don’t Vote” into the Start (not the End) of a Conversation
36% of eligible voters skipped the 2024 elections – but many of them support Democratic priorities. In this interactive online workshop, canvasser and volunteer trainer Elizabeth Chur, author of “The Joy of Talking Politics with Strangers”, shows you how to use empathy and friendly, nonjudgmental curiosity to successfully engage these crucial voters.
Swing Blue Alliance (SBA) and our grassroots partners supporting the Virginia elections are excited about this workshop just in time for the 2025 Virginia state elections. Take your skills to the next level! Whether you are a new volunteer, or experienced canvasser, or just want to be able to talk politics with neighbors, friends, and family, Elizabeth’s interactive training will provide you with strategies, insights, and practice for talking to voters.
Elizabeth Chur is a Swing Left San Francisco volunteer and former journalist and documentary radio producer. She has trained more than 2,500 volunteers nationally through in person and online workshops. For more information on Elizabeth, visit her website https://elizabethchur.com/.
How often have you wondered how effective is the messaging on our postcards and scripts used during our phone banks ?
For the first time Swing Blue Alliance’s Research, Phone Bank, and Mail teams are teaming up to test our messaging! —bringing together the power of our volunteer community to deepen our impact. We’re working with the Rural Freedom Network to get the word out to voters in Pennsylvania’s 10th District, where far-right Rep. Scott Perry is pushing cuts to Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid.
But this campaign isn’t just about reaching voters—it’s about listening, too. We want to know how people react to this message. Does it move them? Do they push back? Can they help us say it better? What we learn from this effort will help shape future campaigns—and make our messages stronger.
There are easy calls and we’ll provide full training and support throughout the phone bank and debrief at the end to share with each other.
Join Indivisible Acton Area for a Workshop on Community Resilience, Readiness and Resistance on Friday, September 19 from 6:00-8:30 PM, at the Great Road Church in Acton.
Indivisible continues to build the Democracy movement and mitigate harm. This workshop will help each of us lay the foundation for mutual aid in the face of disruptions by strikes or authoritarian aggressions.
The Boston Trainers Collective is a group of volunteer activists and organizers associated with a variety of racial and social justice organizations in Greater Boston. This is a two-hour workshop on building personal and collective readiness and resilience to resist authoritarianism and prepare our communities for other challenges that may lie ahead, such as climate-related emergencies, economic uncertainty, and social unrest. Participants will leave with a personalized list of actions they can take immediately to start building their readiness, resilience, and resistance muscles.
Join us for pizza and snacks and get connected to our current actions too!
In solidarity with women on Saturday, September 20th, join us in support of women’s civil rights (including voting rights); equitable access to healthcare, education and careers; equal representation in the government and the boardroom; and for a society that ensures their safety and autonomy. We will rally peacefully on the sidewalk in front of Ashburnham Town Hall. Please bring a sign supporting issues important to women. We are committed to nonviolent action at our rallies. We expect all participants to practice non-violence, to not quarrel with counter-protesters, and to consciously de-escalate any potential confrontation by disengaging with those who might disagree with our positions on issues. We are seeking change through peaceful actions.
SAFE (Supporting All Folks Equally) Flamingos, formerly The Flamingo Revolutionists (still under this name on here until I am able to change it), is holding a protest/rally to fight against the issues that are plaguing us every. single. day. Trump is still signing orders to dismantle, defund, and degrade so many things that make our country a democracy, and it’s out of control, but we can win this. I have all the faith in the world that we can win this. So grab your signs and come out with passion and power in your hearts to take back this country that is OURS, not Trump’s.
Event pending weather. If there is heavy rain or thunderstorms, the event will be cancelled.

Brookline PAX Stand Out at Coolidge Corner is now a weekly event! Bring a sign and bring a friend.
There are many paths of resistance, but one of the easiest is to join with Brookline PAX to Stand Up for the Constitution, starting at 11am this and every Saturday in Coolidge Corner. It’s fun, simple and re-affirming when you see and hear how many wave and honk in support of this cause.
And, same day, same place, you can join the Senior Stand Out starting at 2:00 p.m. A real double-header to show the malefactors and miscreants where Brookline stands–figuratively and literally.
The Brookline PAX Stand Out and the Senior Stand Out merge seamlessly. Come and stay for as long as you can.
