Darializa Avila Chevalier | NY-13

Darializa Avila Chevalier is the proud daughter of immigrants from the Dominican Republic who’s been fighting for her neighbors in Upper Manhattan since she was a teen. A college educator and organizer who currently serves as an Investigator with Neighborhood Defender Services of Harlem, Darializa is running on a bold agenda to restore power to the people of NY-13 and make life better for the working class families of the district.

Cook Political has rated this race Solid D.

A skilled organizer and movement builder, Darializa has helped deliver countless local victories for her neighbors. From leading the fight for the removal of the Central Park Statue of J. Marion Sims, to advocating for the release of ICE detainee Mahmoud Khalil, to organizing with Families for Freedom, Darializa’s fight remains on the frontlines with members of her community.

Darializa’s campaign is funded entirely by grassroots support, rather than real estate developers and corporate PACs. In a district with failed leadership that doesn’t serve the working class families who live there, she is eager to prove that organized people can outmatch organized money.

Indivisible and Inwood Indivisible has endorsed Darializa Avila Chevalier as a primary candidate because, in the battle against fascism, we need real fighters willing to stand up for their communities. We’re proud to stand with Inwood Indivisible to support Avila Chevalier in her run to be the next Representative for New York’s 13th district.
